How to Fix No Sound in Internet Explorer

If you’re making use of Internet Explorer and experiencing the issue of no sound in Internet Explorer while playing Audio, Video or games, you’ll be able to solve the issue by following the steps that are listed below.

No Sound In Internet Explorer

But, this solution will cause all browsing history and information to be deleted at the end of the session . It can’t be considered solution to the issue.

If InPrivate browsing isn’t working for you or you are not a fan to utilize this feature You can look at different methods to solve the issue of No Sound within Internet Explorer as provided below.

1. Enable Sound in Internet Explorer Settings

Make sure to check that the Play Sounds in webpages option is activated in Internet Explorer’s Multimedia Settings.

Open Internet Explorer, click on the Gear Icon located at the right-hand corner of the screen and then click Internet Options in the drop-down menu.

In the Internet Options screen, open the Advanced Tab Scroll down to Multimedia section , and ensure that the Play sound on webpages option is selected.

2. Clear Flash Player Settings

Flash Player saves its own website settings on your computer . Clearing Flash Player configurations is believed to assist in fixing browser-related issues.

Start your Control Panel on your computer.

When you are on the Control Panel Screen, make sure you’re on “Large icons” view and click on the Flash Player Icon.

On the screen for setting Flash Player you can open the Advanced tab and then click on the”Delete All… option located in the “Browsing Data and Settings” section.

On the next screen, ensure that you have deleted all Site Data and Settings option is selected and then click on delete Data button.

Then check if the issue is No Sound in Internet Explorer is resolved on your computer.

3. Allow Windows to Troubleshoot Sound Problems

Windows operating system comes with a variety of built-in troubleshooters that you could employ to identify and resolve audio issues on your computer.

Click Start button > Setting Icon > System

When you are on the System Settings screen, click on Sound in the left-hand side and then click the Troubleshoot button, which is under the “Device Properties” section.

Wait patiently for Windows to identify and fix the issues on your PC. Follow the instructions on screen to identify and fix any sound issues on your computer.

4. Disable ActiveX Filtering

Although ActiveX Apps may be employed to provide interactivity toolbars as well as stock tickers videos and games on websites They can also be used to gather information and install software without the user’s consent, and remotely manage computers remotely.

Therefore, Microsoft provides an option to stop sites from installing or running ActiveX Apps on your computer by activating the ActiveX Filtering option in Internet Explorer.

However, as per Microsoft, ActiveX filtering within Internet Explorer can affect the performance of some websites, affecting their performance. This includes Videos, Games and other interactive content found on those sites.

So, turn off ActiveX Filtering to Internet Explorer and see if can help in resolving the issue of no Sound within Internet Explorer.

To turn off ActiveX Filtering, click the Gear Icon located at the upper-right corner of your screen Click on Security > ActiveX Filtering. This should be unchecked. ActiveX Filtering.

5. Disable Browser Extensions and Add-ons

Certain browser extensions and Add-ons could interfere with the operation for Internet Explorer and cause problems such as No Sound on Internet Explorer.

Open Internet Explorer > click on the Gear Icon > Manage add-ons.

The next page, choose the browser Extension you wish to disable. Click the Enable Button.

Then, you can review the entire list of extensions and then disable all browser extensions that aren’t needed.

Restart your computer and see whether the issue that caused No Sound in Internet Explorer is fixed on your system.
